Arjun Bhandegaonkar, Avinash Singh Tomar, and Vipin Agnihotri wrote the screenplay of the movie with Dheeraj Sarna replacing Ranjan Chandel as the director during filming.
This hard-hitting thriller has a runtime of 2 hours and 7 minutes (127 minutes). The Sabarmati Report has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification with a U/A certificate and no cuts. It is made on a budget of Rs 50 crores with Amalendu Chaudhary taking the command of cinematography and Manan Sagar editing the thrilling tale.
The Sabarmati Report draws inspiration from one of the heartbreaking pages of history when a coach of the Sabarmati Express was set on fire near the town of Godhra in Gujarat. The train was travelling from Ayodhya to Ahmedabad and the incident resulted in the deaths of 59 people who were mostly Hindu pilgrims returning from a religious gathering in Ayodhya.
The fire was reportedly started by a mob and the victims were trapped inside the coach as it was engulfed in flames. The incident sparked widespread violence across Gujarat, leading to communal riots that lasted for several weeks. One of the most dark pages in history, the incident still haunts millions of Indians. Audiences are expecting The Sabarmati Report to serve full justice to their scars.
As the movie is distributed by Zee Studios, there are high chance that The Sabarmati Report will arrive on Zee 5 after its theatrical run.
