Based on the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant, Chhaava is a historical epic that chronicles the life and struggles of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film delves into his heroics as he stands up against the mighty Mughal empire, led by Emperor Aurangzeb. The title Chhaava, meaning ¡°Lion Cub¡± in Marathi, represents Sambhaji's fierce and courageous nature.
Alongside Vicky, the movie boasts an impressive ensemble featuring Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, the wife of Sambhaji Maharaj.
