Telugu star Adivi Sesh is celebrating his 40th birthday today and the makers of his upcoming Dacoit have dropped a new glimpse of the film. The movie shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu was initially announced with Shruti Haasan as the female lead but she opted out after filming some parts. The latest poster features Mrunal Thakur as the new lead and the internet has no qualms about it.
One of the major reasons reported by Cinejosh is that Shruti walked out after facing constant creative differences. The actress wanted the director Shaneil Deo to call the shots but it was Adivi who was allegedly making decisions for the film. Another reason reported by Gulte is that Haasan was facing scheduling conflicts due to her already allotted dates to Coolie, Salaar 2: Shouryanga Parvam, Chennai Story and other projects being in the discussion stage.
One user commented, ¡°Better choice than Shruti. I thought of Bhagyashri or Meenakshi. Maybe they were busy ig but Meenakshi would be great too in this role.¡± Another one added, ¡°Liked the promo with Shruti. But Mrunal is a good choice too.¡± A disappointed fan wrote, ¡°Sesh X Shruthi would've been a fire pair.¡±
Dacoit has been produced by Supriya Yarlagadda under the banner of S. S. Creations and Suniel Narang Production. The story was written by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo together while Danush Bhaskar did the cinematography, Kodati Pavan Kalyan edited the film and Bheems Ceciroleo composed the music.
