The Mansarovar Lake, believed to be created by Lord Brahma, is said to purify the soul. Bathing in this lake is believed to bring moksha (salvation).
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 will officially begin on 30 June 2025 and continue until 25 August 2025 (expected). The journey will take place through two different routes in Uttarakhand (Lipulekh Pass) and Sikkim (Nathula Pass).
Only Indian citizens with a valid Indian passport are eligible for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. The pilgrimage is open to those travelling solely for religious purposes. Selection is done through a computerised draw, and successful applicants are notified via SMS and email.
