Beginning at 8 p.m. on New Year's Eve, vehicles without proper passes will be prohibited from entering Connaught Place's inner, middle, and outer circles. With up to 11,000 troops deployed, the Bengaluru City Police has released a comprehensive advise and plan ahead of New Year's Eve celebrations today. According to Mint, the police have imposed a deadline for New Year's celebrations of only 1 a.m. Vehicle travel on MG Road, Brigade Road, and Church Street will be forbidden between 8 p.m. on December 31 and 2 a.m. on January 1.
A detailed New Year's Eve traffic alert has also been released in Hyderabad. According to IndiaTV News, all flyovers except Begumpet and Tolichowki would be blocked between December 31 and January 1. Furthermore, heavy goods and passenger car entry is forbidden in Hyderabad from 10 p.m. on December 31 to 2 a.m. on January 1. These cars, however, can go on the Outer Ring Road.
Traffic restrictions have been implemented in Kolkata near Park Street, Shakespeare Sarani, the Indian Museum, the Victoria Memorial, the Birla Planetarium, the Alipore Zoo, the Paresh Nath Temple, the Kali Temple at Kalighat, and Thanthania Kalibari. Approximately 4,500 police officers will be stationed on the roadways to ensure smooth traffic flow on New Year's Eve. In addition, Kolkata Metro will operate six additional services on the north-south circuit today.
More than 1 lakh people from Noida and the NCR are expected to assemble on December 31 to celebrate the New Year. Noida Police has issued a traffic advisory as well as road closures and parking instructions for the occasion. The Noida Police has devised a comprehensive plan to alleviate traffic congestion in Sector-18 and its neighboring regions.
DCP Lakhan Yadav of Noida Traffic Police explained that changes will be made to the parking system in Sector-18 to reduce traffic bottlenecks. Parking is now allowed on various roads in this sector. However, it will be forbidden on December 31 and January 1.
