Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old Bihar cricketer, made history by becoming the youngest player ever to be bought at an Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. Suryavanshi, the youngest player to register, was sold to the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.10 crore on the second day of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction on Monday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.?
RR competed with Delhi Capitals for the talent, but the latter withdrew after the former proposed Rs 1.10 crore for the adolescent.
The 2011-born began to demonstrate his cricketing ability at the age of four. Vaibhav's father, Sanjeev, observed his enthusiasm and decided to create a little play area for him in the house's backyard.?
At the age of nine, Vaibhav's father enrolled him at a cricket academy in the nearby town of Samastipur. People around him quickly realized that Vaibhav was much ahead of his age in terms of cricketing ability.
Vaibhav was only 12 years old when he represented Bihar in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, scoring over 400 runs in five matches. It didn't take him long to advance through the ranks of Bahar Cricket, turning heads wherever he went.?
Vaibhav, who debuted for Bihar at the juvenile age of 12, has quickly established himself in the cricketing world. His most recent performance, a scorching 58-ball century against the Australian U-19 squad in a four-day match in Chennai, cemented his status as a rising star.?
Vaibhav made his India U-19 debut against Australia in a junior Test in Chennai in September of this year. He smashed an amazing 62-ball 104 before being run out.?
His youthful talent, continuous performance, and effort have earned him a place in India's U-19 squad. An IPL selection could also be imminent.?
