Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Anant Ambani donates gold crown worth Rs 15 crore to Lalbaugcha Raja
Ganesh Chaturthi is just around the corner and the celebrations have begun with the unveiling of the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja. Days ahead of the Vinayaka Chaturthi, the devotees were a glimpse of the 'King of Lalbaug' last night on September 5. The official X (formerly Twitter ) and YouTube accounts of Lalbaugcha Raja, shared images and videos of the ceremony where the idol was unveiled with traditional folk dance and song.?

The majestic 12-foot idol, dressed in maroon attire, left the devotees in awe. While the idol was adorned with several gold and silver jewellery ornaments, the highlight was the majestic gold crown. The bespoke 20-kg crown is reportedly worth a whopping Rs 15 crore and was gifted to Lalbaugcha by none other than Anant Ambani. The heartwarming gesture of Anant comes as no surprise as the warm-hearted son of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani has a long history with Lalbaugcha Raja.
Anant Ambani's history with Lalbaugcha Raja
Anant has been associated with the Lalbagcha Raja committee for the past 15 years through his various social work initiatives. The youngest son of the Ambani is a regular face at Lalbaugcha Raja during the 10-day-long Ganeshotsav celebrations and also attends the immersion of the idol at Girgaon Chowpatty Beach every year on the eleventh day. Other than his regular visits, Anant has lent his support to the organisation several times in the past. When the committee faced a shortage of funds for their social work during the difficult time of the Covid-19 pandemic, Anant Ambani acted as a ray of hope through his initiative. He along with the Reliance Foundation donated 24 dialysis machines for the aid of patients to the committee.
This year to commemorate all his contributions, Anant Ambani was granted an honorary membership of the prestigious Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandal. The membership will be renewed manually after a meeting with a general body, according to a member who also acknowledged the family's donations which helped the mandal continue its charitable work.??
