India's star wrestler, Vinesh Phogat, was on the brink of achieving Olympic glory at the Paris 2024 Games but has now been disqualified from the competition. Vinesh, who was competing in the 50kg freestyle wrestling category, has been removed from the event after exceeding the weight limit by a slight margin.
Typically, Vinesh competes in the 53kg weight class but had dropped to 50kg for these Olympics. Unfortunately, during her weigh-in on the second day, she was found to be just 100 grams over the limit, leading to her disqualification from the competition.

Vinesh Phogat has shared insights into her favorite food combinations and her diet plan that supports her rigorous training regimen. In a recent interview, she revealed that "ghar ka khana" (home-cooked food) is her go-to comfort after a demanding day.
According to a report in HT, after a victory, nothing feels better than a good sleep followed by hot chapatis with home-churned butter or chutney.

Reflecting on her early career, Phogat admitted that she was initially unaware of the nutritional needs for an athlete. She recalled, ¡°I didn¡¯t really know what foods contained protein or didn¡¯t. Sometimes I¡¯d skip breakfast, have only roti for lunch, or just eat eggs before sleeping.¡±
Today, Phogat has a more structured approach to her diet. While she isn't overly strict, she adheres to specific meal timings. Her pre-training meals include eggs, oats, tomatoes, or bread. For lunch, she opts for roti, seasonal vegetables, protein-rich chana or rajma, dahi, salad, or fruit.
