Got placed in a "reputed" company through campus, this is the current state

The post begins with, "Got placed in a 'reputed' company through campus, this is the current state," and shares a message sent by a fellow candidate hired through campus placements to the company.
It details: "Got placed on campus pretty early and so never got a chance to try out for any other companies (college policy). We got an internship offer for 5 months which ended in May. No communications from their side for almost 3 months. Last reply was on 14th August saying they need clarity. We were told we'd be getting our offer letters before 2-3 week of August. I know it's part our fault for sitting still for so long, but we have also been trying off campus but to no avail."
The selected candidate who sent the text writes to the company, "We understand that we are fortunate to have a job offer in the current market conditions. However, many of us have rejected offers from other companies to join BGSW [Bosch Global Software Technologies]. It is very difficult to wait indefinitely without knowing when we will be called back."
They add, "We feel disappointed when we see our batchmates posting, 'I'm thrilled to announce that I am starting a new position at so and so company..' on LinkedIn, while we remain uncertain about our situation."
In the comments, people shared their views on campus placements.?
One user wrote, "Placements are a scam. no matter even if you're from tier 1... once offer is signed, even if company starts treating you like turd, like delay onboarding or not align you on job descripted job designation or delay your pay or kick you in a week or day, college has no accountability and nor company."
Another offered advise: "Here is something from decades of experience, if you get an offer, as a fresher, experienced, doesn't matter, the job is not yours until your ass is in their chair in their office and your security clearance, Id cards etc are generated. Till then keep interviewing and getting backup offers."
