Explaining the prominence of sales in the job market, Callam Pickering, APAC senior economist at Indeed, highlighted its potential for high stress levels, substantial staff turnover, and a heightened risk of burnout, factors contributing to common shortages and recruitment challenges in the sector.
Moreover, Indeed's data showcases other prevalent search terms by Indian employers in 2023, providing insights into their recruitment priorities.?
These include "Accounting" at 2%, "Nurse" at 1%, "Telecaller" at 0.94%, and "Mechanic" at 0.9%, each indicating the proportion of total searches conducted by recruiters in the country.
Commenting on these trends, Sashi Kumar, head of sales at Indeed India, noted that sales and accounting roles transcend various industries, resulting in consistently high demand.?
He further highlighted that these sectors have witnessed a surge in job postings since 2020, indicating sustained growth and opportunity.
Among the top 10 search terms among recruiters in India, several other notable entries include "business development executive," "registered nurse," "electrician," "graphic designer," and "PHP developer" (PHP developer specialises in creating websites, programs, or applications using the PHP programming language.)
