The ongoing clashes which erupted on February 23 has only got worse in Delhi and have claimed close to 20 lives and injured more than 150 people. Infact, the violence has claimed its youngest victim.
A 14-year-old Muslim boy was allegedly shot at by rioters, as some media reports suggest that he belonged to the pro-CAA group in the Kardam Puri locality of Shahdara on February 25.?
The boy has been identified as Faizan and was not a part of ongoing protests or clashes but was merely visiting the area to drop off some items to an acquaintance. He was shot during the day but the ambulance took a long time to reach him.
There are new reports suggesting that the police were not allowing ambulances to enter riot hit areas. However, it could not be verified whether police had indeed asked ambulances to retreat from the spot.
?¡°A PCR van finally arrived at the spot and took the boy to the hospital moments ago, after Delhi Joint Commissioner intervened. Even then, he received no proper medical assistance for over six hours,¡± said a report by India Today.
Since Sunday, multiple instances of violence have been reported from northeast Delhi. Situation has been so tense that even additional police deployment and Section 144 have failed to curb tension.
A curfew has now been imposed in four areas Maujpur, Jafrabad, Chand Bagh and Karawal Nagar close Kadampuri where the minor boy was hit by a bullet.
