Bobby Deol on the lacklustre response to Suriya’s Kanguva: ‘I am proud of my role’

Bobby Deol recently made his Tamil debut with Kanguva, which hit the screens on November 14 amid much fanfare. The film created a great deal of buzz before its release with its powerful trailer. It, however, eventually failed to live up to expectations at the box office. The Animal actor has now reacted to the film’s failure.?

Bobby Deol reacts to Kanguva’s failure

Kanguva, starring Suriya and Bobby Deol, was billed as a game-changer for the Tamil film industry. It, however, failed to impress the audience and ended up being a massive flop. In an interview with E Times, Bobby Deol opened up about the lacklusture response to Kanguva and said that he is ‘proud’ of his work in the fantasy drama.?

"I'm proud of my role in Kanguva and I could never have imagined playing a character like that. If I knew which films would be successful I would only choose those,” said the actor.

Bobby Deol added that it is ‘disappointing’ when things don’t go as planned but such things are a part of an actor's journey.?

Kanguva, Siva and Suriya’s biggest film,? is a fantasy action drama that revolves around the bond between a mighty warrior and his ‘son’. The film features Suriya as the titular tribal leader.
