Gurugram hosted India's first ever transqueen?pageant on August 27 at Hotel Bristol where 26-year-old Nitasha Biswas emerged the winner of Miss Transqueen 2017 title.

Nitasha was one of the 16 contestants who participated in the pageant. The contestants were shortlisted from among 1,500 applicants.?

Organiser of the pageant, Reena Rai said,?"The idea came from my heart. I had gone Hijra Hubba, an event where I met a number of trans people, and I came back and told my husband about it. There was no stopping since then."
The winner, Nitasha is currently studying masters in Business Management in Kolkata.?LoiLoi, 23, from Manipur was the 1st runner up and Ragasya, 24, from Chennai was the 2nd runner up.
