Does anyone remember Vishwa Bandhu Gupta? A retired IRS officer who became an internnet sensation a few years ago when a video of him giving an interview about cloud computing went viral.?
Speaking about data safety Mr. Gupta went on to claim that there was some technology in US to record conversations from air and that data stored on your mobiles SIM card gets transferred to batteries and so on.
He also went on to question the reliability of cloud computing saying that it becomes ineffective at the times of rain etc.
Wondering why we are discussing this years old video here now? It seems like we got ourselves another brilliant 'scientist' who thinks digital data kept behind 13 feet high, 5 feet thick wall is safe from hackers.
At least that is what KK Venugopal, the Attorney General representing the government in the Aadhaar case told in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Arguing that the scheme was a ¡°serious effort to end corruption¡± and not a fly-by night scheme to score brownie points, the top government lawyer said that all the details, including biometric data, are being kept at a complex in Manesar, near Delhi.
He even offered to show the five-judge bench hearing a clutch of petitions against Aadhaar a four-minute video of the complex by the CEO of UIDAI.
While we are not sure how convinced the SC judges are about the knowledge of Mr Venugopal about data safety and hacking, twitter for sure wasn't so amused at his gyan or the lack of it.
