On September 1, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, drawing widespread acclaim for its sleek design and world-class amenities. However, Dr. Neel, known as 'The Skin Doctor,' voiced concerns over Indian civic sense on X hoping that the train survives it.
Check out the post by 'The Skin Doctor':
After praising the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, Dr. Neel remarked, "Let's hope it survives Indian civic sense, gutkha chewers, unauthorized hawkers, beggars, thieves, without ticket occupiers, reel makers, stone pelters, and train track vandals."
The top comment on his post read: "Chips packets, aloo bhujiya and million other things on the floor from day 1," to which Neel responded that he shouldn't have expected anything different from the Vande Bharat Sleeper, pointing out that the Vande Bharat AC train had faced similar issues last year.?
He even shared a picture of its floor littered with plastic packets, bottles, and food items.
Another emphasised: "All of this is useless until we learn basic civic sense and keep it as we keep our own property" while one said, "Good thing is that most of the Gutka chewers cannot afford this travel fare."
The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, unveiled with much fanfare, comprises 16 coaches: 11 AC 3-tier coaches with 611 berths, 4 AC 2-tier coaches with 188 berths, and 1 AC First Class coach offering 24 berths, as reported byTOI.?
The train is equipped with world-class features that elevate Indian Railways to European standards, including spacious luggage rooms, integrated reading lights with USB charging points, and modular pantries.
Its sleek interiors and modern amenities have garnered widespread praise, with many admiring its impressive design.?
However, whether the Vande Bharat train can withstand the test of time and Indian civic sense (or the lack of it), and maintain its standards in the face of daily wear and tear remains to be seen.
