All You Need To Know About Kuber Tila In The Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Complex
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday evening visited the Kuber Tila on the Ram temple complex in Ayodhya and offered prayers to Lord Shiva there.
After the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Lalla idol, PM Modi visited the ancient Shiva Temple, in the same complex and performed 'jalabhishek' (pouring water on the 'Shiva linga') and also did a 'parikrama' (circumambulation) there.
Shiva temple in Kuber Tila
The ancient Shiv temple is located in the southwestern part of the Ram Janmabhoomi complex at Kuber Tila.
The temple of Lord Shiva is also being renovated by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
It is believed that Kuber, the Hindu god of wealth, was the first to worship Lord Ram near his birthplace.?
Apart from the Shivling, the ancient temple also houses idols of deities including Kuber, Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvati, Lord Kartikeya, God Kuber and Nandi.
Jatayu statue unveiled in Ayodhya?
PM Modi on Monday also unveiled a statue of Jatayu, a mythical bird that was killed by Ravana while trying to save Goddess Sita from the demon king, on the premises of the Ayodhya temple.
Ram temple, dawn of a new era
Commenting on the consecration of Ram Lalla's idol in Ayodhya, PM Modi said it marks the advent of a new era.
"We have got the Shri Ram temple today. That is how a nation writes a new history after breaking the shackles of slavery and drawing resolve from its every suffering."
The temple, built in the traditional Nagara style of architecture, spans 380 feet in length (east-west), 250 feet in width and 161 feet in height. It is supported by 392 pillars and has 44 doors.
"Ram is India's faith... Ram is the basis of India, Ram lays down the rules in India, Ram is India's consciousness, Ram is India's pride, Ram is India's glory, Ram is India's influence, Ram is overarching.
"Therefore, when Ram is consecrated it has an effect not just for years and centuries but for thousands of years," Modi said.
