In the past couple of years, several cases have come up where women have been found honey trapping officials from various departments and keeping this in mind, the Indian Army has cautioned its soldiers against a suspected Instagram account which is believed to be targeting officers and troops from the special forces.?
The Directorate of Military Intelligence on issued an advisory to its personnel saying that social media profile on Instagram with name ¡°Oyesomya¡± and ¡°Gujjar Soumya¡± on Facebook have? ¡°duplicitous credentials¡± and the profile could spying to extract classified information from the personnel, a report in?News18?said.?
"She [Gujjar Soumya] claims to be the sister of late Captain Pawan Kumar. She claims to be currently studying as a research scholar in IIT Bombay and that she has cleared IIT JEE 2016 and NTSE 2014," the advisory read. According to NDTV, the Instagram handle of the suspected spy has been removed.
The advisory said that these profiles might have been created to make inroads into the social media accounts of the personnel in order to extract classified information.?
