Three Indian restaurants have been named among the 50 best restaurants in Asia. According to the Asia¡¯s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 released in Seoul on Tuesday 26th March, Masque in Mumbai is the highest ranked restaurant in India, followed by Indian Accent in New Delhi and Avartana, ITC Grand Chola in Chennai.
While Masque was ranked 23rd in the list Indian Accent was at the 26th spot and Avartana was placed 44th on the annual ranking.
In 2023 also Masque was the highest-ranking restaurant in India, when it was placed 16th on the list.
Founded by Prateek Sadhu and Aditi Dugar in 2016, Masque, which is housed in a stylish former Mumbai textile mill is best known for its 10-course tasting menu.
"Offering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, Masque¡¯s ten-course tasting menu showcases India¡¯s rich produce, featuring dishes such as Kashmiri morels with patra or the sea buckthorn pani puri, reimagining traditional Indian flavours with inventive twists," the description on the ranking noted.
Indian Accent in Delhi has been named the best restaurant in India, every year from 2015 to 2021. In 2023 Avartana, Chennai won the List's Highest New Entry Award.
S¨¦zanne in Tokyo was named The Best Restaurant in Asia in the ranking for 2024.
Florilege in Tokyo took the second spot while Gaggan Anand, an Indian restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand took the third spot.?
Two Hong Kong restaurants, The Chairman and Wing completed the top five in the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2024 rankings.
The Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2024 ranking is created from the votes of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants Academy, an influential gender-balanced group of 318 experts made up of food writers and critics, chefs, restaurateurs and regional culinary leaders, this year's list includes restaurants from 19 cities across the region and eight new entries.
