The floods in Assam is continuing to affect thousands of people in the state as overflowing of Brahmaputra river is sweeping away people from the close vicinity.
As many as 13 people have died so far as the river and its tributaries continue to overflow over danger levels, submerging new places every day.

Fifteen districts have been affected by the floods and have rendered more than 39,000 people homeless. The victims of these floods have taken refuge in relief camps set up for them. The districts affected by these flash floods are Hojai, Majuli, Barpeta, Chirang, Nagaon Lakhimpur, Sivasagar, Cachar, Dhemaji, Biswanath, Jorhat, Golaghat, Karimganj, Sonitpur, and Nalbari.

Three more minors lost their lives in the wave of floods, adding to the death toll. On July 5, almost four lakh people have been affected by the floods. Currently, there are 128 relief camps opened by the state government under the surveillance of Assam Chief Minister.
The biggest city of Northeast India Guwahati is also affected. Wildlife sanctuaries like Kaziranga National Park, Nameri National Park and Pobitora wildlife sanctuary have been affected by the floods.

Infrastructure, Cattle stock and agriculture lands have also been affected. State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has so far evacuated 400 students to safer places in the district of Nalbari.?
