Summers are here in India and everyone is literally facing the heat. Even the India Meteorological Department (MET) has said there's no respite from the scorching heat at least for the next week. Vidarbha region in Maharashtra was the worst-affected and was reeling under extreme heat wave with Nagpur and Chandrapur recording over 47 degree Celsius temperatures respectively.

On May 28, Chandrapur recorded a maximum temperature of 47.8¡ãC, the highest in the world, according to several media reports.
According to reports, Chandrapur (47.8¡ãC) was on the top of the list of world's hottest cities on May 28 while Jacobabad, Pakistan (47.5¡ãC) and Nagpur (47.5¡ãC) were second and third on the list respectively.

In April, another Indian city Khargone in Madhya Pradesh was also the hottest in the world on April 26. The temperature was a scorching 47 degrees, the Met department in Bhopal had said.
The El Dorado weather website had recorded Khargone's temperature as 46.6 degrees Celsius, and listed it as the hottest in the world. Even then, Vidarbha was boiling in unprecedented heat.
