With a few hours left to go for the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony on January 22, all eyes are now on Ayodhya.?
Devotees are marking the event by sending a diverse array of gifts to Ayodhya from various sources.?
But the most unique source is definitely the different jails of Uttar Pradesh.Around one lakh inmates from 75 jails across Uttar Pradesh are sending handicrafts related to Ram temple, to be displayed near the temple, at the airport, bus stations, and tourist spots.?
Bhadohi jail gifted a 8 ft x 5 ft wall carpet featuring a Ram temple design.?
Director General of Prisons Satya Narayan Sabat, said, "Recently, a striking 8 ft x 5 ft wall carpet featuring a Ram temple design, crafted in Bhadohi jail, was presented to the Ayodhya commissioner by DIG (prisons) based in Prayagraj, for its display at a significant location in Ayodhya."?
Mainpuri district jail inmates have crafted a Tarkashi art piece depicting the Ram temple and Ram Darbar.?
Tarkashi is a famous inlaying technique from Rajasthan which uses fine flattened wire of brass, copper or silver for inlaying in wood. Commonly seen in the palaces of Rajasthan, the Tarkashi patterns inlayed are usually intricate geometric forms or florals from Mughal arts.?
The Fatehgarh district jail inmates have crafted exquisite woollen shawls featuring block-printed designs of the Ram temple with 'Jai Shri Ram' patterned on them.?
Jail superintendent, Rajesh Kumar Pandey of Pilibhit district jail has said that four skilled inmates, who are professional potters, are creating over 1,000 earthen lamps for illumination, both inside and outside the jail campus on the Pran Pratishtha day.?
Further, 673 women inmates will chant the 'Sundarkand,' the fifth chapter of Ramcharitmanas.Sundarkand or 'Sundara Kanda' is the only chapter of the Ramayana in which the principal protagonist is not Rama, but Hanuman, who?is believed to have been fondly called "Sundara" by his mother Anjana.?The work depicts the adventures of Hanuman and his devotion to Rama.?
The Ram Mandir consecration time?at Ayodhya is set for 11 am.?
