With an ambitious aim to promote religious tourism, the Indian Railways is all set to launch? a special tourist train linking key site in Ramayana.
According to Hindustan Times, the train will be called Sri Ramayana Express and it will start operations from November 14.

The 16 day trip? which will start from Safdarjung station of Delhi, will make its first stop in Ayodhya, Hanuman Garhi, Ramkot and the Kanak Bhawan Temple.
The train will then move along the circuit, making stops at Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Varanasi, Prayag, Shringverpur, Chitrakoot, Nasik, Hampi and Rameshwaram or at the nearest railway stations.?
The train has a seating capacity of 800 passengers and the journey, within India would cost Rs 15,120 per person.

Those passengers opting to visit the Sri Lanka leg of the tour can travel to Colombo from Chennai by flight, which will be charged separately.
This is in addition to the already available tour package IRCTC is offering, which include? a 5-night/6-days tour package to Sri Lanka covering destinations like Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Colombo, Negombo starting from Rs 47,600 per person.
Named, "Shri Ramayana Yatra-Sri Lanka" tour the package lets tourists witness the significant places associated with Ramayana, in the island nation.
