Air pollution in Delhi remains on the rise with the present Air Quality Index (AQI) hovering around 342. Putting that into perspective, the normal range is between 0-50 and Delhi's AQI index stands between 301-400 which falls under 'very poor' category. Despite repeated rise in the pollution levels, schools remain open and no concrete action has been taken so far.?
In contrast, choking air pollution in the Thai capital of Bangkok has prompted authorities to shut schools for a week until normal levels of pollution is reached. Last week's AQI index of Bangkok was 170 while it has significantly improved to 112 at present.
