As coronavirus cases keep on rising in number, Bengaluru city Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao declared that those who were under home quarantine stamping would be placed under arrest if found outside.
"5000 Home quarantine stamping was carried to ensure they remain home in public interest", he tweeted.?
"I have received calls some of those stamped are moving in BMTC (Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation) buses and sitting in restaurants. Please call 100, these people will be picked up, arrested and sent to government quarantine," Rao said, according to PTI.?
Officials said that those stamped should stay quarantined at home for at least 14 daysSix more cases were confirmed in the state and now the total is 26.?
The State Government has called for a lockdown in areas where cases are being reported till March 31. Only essential services shall take place.?
The areas are Bengaluru city, Bengaluru Rural, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Dharwad, Chikkaballapura, Kodagu and Belagavi, said Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai??
