Love know no bound, it doesn't understand any religion, caste, creed or colour. But, in India, inter-faith or inter-religion marriages are not allowed. People are ready to kill in the name of honour and pride. However, what could have been yet another case of mob lynching in Uttrakhand in the name of religion has been avoided. All thanks to this brave police officer who stood up to the crowd to save a couple.
In a video that is making rounds on social media, Sub-Inspector Gagandeep Singh is seen shielding a young man from the fury of a mob.
The youth, a Muslim boy was meeting a Hindu girl near a crowded temple in Girija village in Nainital.
According to a report by The Lallantop, the mob comprising of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad men had surrounded them and began manhandling the boy. SI Gagandeep is seen confronting the violent mob, who demanded the youth? be handed over to them.
Fearing the mob turning violent, the officer stood up to them and made sure that the boy was not hurt.
The crowd can be heard demanding to see the ID card of the boy.?
