The number of snatching incidents in the Delhi-NCR region has been increasing and with that, there has been a rise in the confidence of snatchers. However, two snatchers targeting individuals at Nehru Park in Chanakyapuri were in for a surprise when they selected a target who happened to be a police officer. They clearly didn't anticipate encountering law enforcement and thought it would be a routine snatch.?
Gaurav, hailing from Sarojini Nagar, and Pawan Dev, residing in a slum located in Tughlaq Road, attempted to snatch a chain from a man in Nehru Park.?
When their initial attempt failed, they resorted to violence, taking out a pistol, assaulting the man, and threatening him with a firearm.?
Despite the victim's resistance, the snatchers managed to break the chain around his neck.?
However, their luck took a turn for the worse as their target turned out to be none other than Vinod Badola, an encounter specialist from the Delhi Police's special cell.?
Despite being unarmed, Badola bravely confronted the armed snatchers.?
With a history of handling high-profile encounters, including those involving a Taliban-backed cartel, the 48-year-old drew upon his vast experience to tackle the situation.?
Engaging in a physical pursuit, Badola chased the snatchers on foot and engaged in a heated fistfight with them.?
Displaying remarkable skill and strength, the officer grappled with one of the assailants, ultimately overpowering him and disarming him.?
Although one of the snatchers managed to evade capture and flee, Badola remained undeterred.?
He immediately contacted the PCR by dialing 112. Meanwhile, he continued his pursuit, coordinating with local law enforcement to track down the second assailant.?
Despite attempts to blend in with the crowd, the fleeing criminal was eventually located near a fountain and apprehended with the assistance of the authorities.??
