A passenger who arrived at Mangaluru airport from Dubai was admitted to the isolation ward of a hospital with symptoms of coronavirus. Now according to sources, the patient has gone missing.
The patient was shifted to the district Wenlock hospital with high fever and some coronavirus symptoms.
He apparently argued with the staff late at night that he was not sick with the virus and left the hospital.
The hospital health officer called up the police and a high alert has been sounded in coastal districts to locate the person who has 'escaped' from the hospital.
Dakshina Kannada district health officer, Sikandar Pasha, had earlier said the patient will be kept under observation for 24 hours and will be discharged after routine tests.
The district health department lodged a complaint with the Mangaluru police station and the investigation is on.
This is not the first time it has happened. A few days ago, a suspected coronavirus patient also ran away from a hospital in Punjab. The reason was that he got scared when admitted into the isolation ward.
We hope that the patient is located soon. If he/she is infected, the risk of them infecting others is pretty high too.?
