A COVID positive patient has been booked for allegedly sexually assaulting another patient who was undergoing the same treatment at a hospital in Odisha, as per a report in India Today.?
According to reports, the incident happened in the district of Nuapada.
A case has been registered at the police station.?
Reports say the victim was admitted to the hospital on April 26.?
The accused, who was also admitted there, allegedly assaulted her, after which the complainant raised the alarm. On hearing her screams, some patients rushed to the spot.?
"I felt his intention was not good towards me, so I shouted and called other patients nearby," she said while speaking to the cops.?
"Police action can be taken against the accused only after he tests negative. However, we have been keeping track of him and have shifted him to another polytechnic tuned Covid hospital," said police.?
The accused has been booked under IPC sections Section 354 (assault or using criminal force to any woman) and 354 (A), 269 and 270.??
