The newly-elected Arunachal Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu took the oath on Thursday. Along with Khandu, who has been appointed as the CM for the third consecutive term, other ministers including Biyuram Wahge, Nyato Dukam, Gabriel Denwang Wangsu, Wangki Lowang, Pasang Dorjee Sona, Mama Natung, Dasanglu Pul, Balo Raja, Kento Jini, and Ojing Tasing also took the oath on Thursday.
Dasanglu Pul is the only female minister in the Arunachal Pradesh cabinet and is only the second woman to hold a ministerial post in the state in 36 years. The first to do so was Komoli Mossang, who was made a deputy minister in 1988 and a cabinet minister in 1990.

Dasanglu, the MLA from Hayuliang, is the widow of late Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul, who died in 2016. The 46-year-old, who had won the April 19 Assembly elections uncontested, entered politics in 2016 following the death of her husband and was re-elected to the assembly in 2019.
Dasanglu, who was born on November 1, 1977, lost her father at a very young age. After completing her schooling at the government higher secondary school in Hayuliang in 1994, Dasanglu trained to become a typist to support her family.
Dasanglu began her career with the power department as a casual laborer to support her family financially. Later, she was employed as a meter reader in the department. She tied the knot with Kalikho Pul in November 2015, but the marriage did not last even a year as he died on August 9, 2016. In the by-election that followed, Dasanglu was elected to the assembly from Hayuliang and has retained the seat ever since.

Arunachal Pradesh has a total of four women MLAs this time, including Dasanglu. The others are Tsering Lhamu (Lumla), Chakat Aboh (Khonsa West), and Nyabi Jini Dirchi (Basar).
