Gujarat is a home to 58 individuals whose net worth is Rs 1,000 crore or more, with Ahmadabad being the home of 84 per cent of the ultra rich in the state. According to the Barclays Hurun India Rich List 2018, these 58 individuals account to a cumulative wealth of th Rs 2.54 lakh crore.

Adani group chairman Gautam Adani is the wealthiest with net worth of Rs 71,200 crore. Adani, who ranks eighth nationally, is followed by Pankaj Patel of Zydus group (Rs 32,100 crore wealth), Bhadresh Shah of AIA Engineering (Rs 9,700 crore), Karsanbhai Patel (Rs 9,600 crore) and Torrent group promoters Samir and Sudhir Mehta (Rs 8,300 crore each).
The Barclays Hurun India Rich List 2018 was compiled on the basis of net worth of living Indians as on July 31, 2018.
Even with 58 billionaires, Gujarat is ranked fourth in the states when it comes to the ultra rich.
Maharashtra which has a total of 271 individuals who have a combined wealth of Rs 21.14 lakh crores tops the list, with Mukesh Ambani, the richest Indian topping the charts.?

Maharashtra is followed by Delhi, which has a total of 163 billionaires whose total worth is estimated to be Rs 6.7 lakh crores.
Karnataka has 72 billionaires who accounted for Rs 3.49 lakh crores. Telangana which has 49 billionaires with a total income of 1.56 lakh crore also made it to the top five states when it comes to wealthy individuals.?
Among cities, Mumbai is home to the highest number -- 233, followed by Delhi -- 163, Bengaluru -- 70, Ahmedabad 48 and Hyderabad 46.
