Believe it or not, there is a connection between tiger and terrorism, at least that is what Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Sri Pejawar Mutt, Udupi wants you to believe.
According to him, having the tiger as our national animal was the reason for the increase in terrorist activities in India.

And he also has the solution for this - If we had embraced cow, the symbol of love and innocence, there would not have any terrorists born in this country.
He made these comments while speaking at a 'Santa Samagam' as part of a Yoga camp led by Baba Ramdev in Udupi.

He also called for expediting the cleanup of River Ganga which has bee dragging for years and said that there is a need to introduce uniform civil code and also measures for population control.
Speaking at the event Ramdev stressed the need to bring stringent laws against cattle slaughter. He said that there was a ban on cow slaughter during the era of Babar, Humayun, and Akbar.

Ramdev also said that beef consumption is the reason for global warming and urged meat consumers to consume any meat, including dog, cat, chicken, and mutton, but not beef.?
This is not the first time people had a problem with the tiger being India's national animal.
Last year, two states, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand had passed resolutions in their respective assemblies urging the Central Government to declare the cow as rashtra mata.

In 2017, a judge in the Rajasthan High Court had recommended that cow should be declared as 'national animal'.
Delivering the judgment in a case that had nothing to do with the statues of the national animal, the judge, Mahesh Chandra Sharma stumped the petitioner who had approached the court seeking action against corruption in a state-run cow shelter in Jaipur by suggesting that?cow should be declared national animal and punishment for cow slaughter should be punishable by life imprisonment, something which had nothing to do with the original petition.

He also went on to claim that?peacock was declared as the national bird because is a lifelong celibate. It never has sex with peahen. Its tears are picked by the peahen to get pregnant and give birth to baby peacock or baby peahen. God Krishna wore Peacock feathers for this reason. Peacock feather is used by saints and priests and in temples for this reason - it's celibacy. Similarly, there are so many qualities in a cow that, it must be declared a national animal.
