Cyclone Fani made a landfall today morning in Odisha with windspeeds upto 210kmph and heavy rainfall lashing coastal areas. More than 11.5 lakh residents in the low-lying areas of 13 districts in Odisha have been evacuated and moved to safer places.
The cyclone, classified by the India Meteorological Department as an ˇ°extremely severe cyclonic stormˇ±, formed southeast of Sri Lanka around seven days ago.?
