A suspected suicide bomber, who was arrested for trying to target CRPF convoy in the similar way another one was attacked in Pulwama on February 14 in which more than 40 soldiers were martyred on Monday.?
He tried to attack a CRPF convoy on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway two days ago. Now, he told police that he was asked over the phone to explode the paramilitary vehicle.
"I was asked on phone to explode the convoy. My task was to drive the car and press the switch. I pressed the button while I was in the car. I was alone when I did it," he was quoted as saying by ANI.
The car was laden by gas cylinders.
The resident of Wail village in Shopian district, Owais Amin Rather was arrested by the?joint search team of police and the army while he was trying to flee, Sajad Sarwar, the sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Banihal said.
In the attack, the CRPF vehicle did suffer damage after a? Santro car caught fire after an explosion at Tethar village shortly after the CRPF convoy crossed the Jawahar Tunnel on Saturday. The convoy was going to Jammu.

The driver of the car had managed to flee and was later booked under various section Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
A letter was also recovered from the spot of the attack through which the driver was identified as Hizbul Mujahideen operative Owais Amin and his intention of carrying out a Pulwama-style terror attack also had a mention in the letter.
