Delhi Police have recovered an IED in Ghazipur Flower Market, as per TNN. The bomb was detonated in open ground and has been diffused. The first visuals showed the specialized NSG team recovering it.?
ANI shared a photo of the abandoned bag that had the IED inside it.
"Based on the information received, an IED has been recovered," Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said.?
This is just before the Republic Day Parade on January 26.?
"A case is being registered in the Delhi Police Special Cell under provisions of the Explosives Act," a Delhi Police officer said.?
A passer-by spotted the IED and he called the fire department.?
As per IANS, the Delhi Fire Department got the call at around 10.20 am regarding an unattended bag in the Ghazipur flower market. 2 fire engines, a bomb disposal squad, and Delhi Disaster Management Authority officials were at the scene in quick time.????
A robotic scanner scanned the bag. As per Times Now, officials said that the suspicious bag found in Ghazipur Sabzi Mandi was taken to open ground using a pit, was buried 8 feet below the ground.
The place was sealed and the IED was diffused through a controlled explosion.?
"A bomb disposal squad of the National Security Guard has defused the IED recovered from Ghazipur. Samples of the IED have been collected; team to submit a report on the chemical component used to assemble the explosive," said the NSG.
