Sepoy KK Ojha has been identified as one of the 20 Indian Army personnel who lost their lives during the faceoff between the troops of India and China at the?Galwan Valley in Ladakh?on Monday night.
As per reports, Ojha is a native of Dihari village of Sahibganj in Jharkhand.?Ojha was recruited in the Bihar Regiment of the Indian Army in 2011.
The 26-year-old had become the father of a girl just 17 days ago and never got to meet his daughter.
Expressing grief over his death, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said, ¡°We are proud of our brave son of Jharkhand #KundanOjha who sacrificed his life along with two other army men in the line of duty. I salute all of them and Jharkhand Govt and the entire state stands in solidarity with Kundan's family in this hour of bereavement."
So far, the Indian Army has confirmed the identities of two more of its men who lost their lives in the faceoff on Monday night.
One of them is Colonel Santosh Babu, the Commanding Officer of 16 Bihar Regiment.
The other has been identified as Havildar K Palani, a resident of Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu.
The 40-year-old who joined the Indian Army at the age of 18 was set to retire next year after serving the country for over two decades.
Palani who had last visited his hometown in January had planned for a vacation in June to attend the housewarming ceremony of his newly built house. But he had to scrap his plans due to the tensions at the border.
