The United Nations and the international community has backed India as the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) which comprise 15 nation including the P-5 condemned in Pulwama terror attack in which over 40 of CRPF soldiers have martyred. The UNSC including China which has been opposing India¡¯s move of banning Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar on Thursday condemned in the "strongest terms" the "heinous and cowardly" terror attack by JeM.
The press statement released by the UNSC which is the most powerful UN body particularly named JeM, the Pak based terror group headed by Masood Azhar. The UNSC also emphasised on bring those who financed and organised this cowardly attack and bring them to justice.?
China which is a permanent member of? UNSC has blocked India¡¯s move of banning Masood Azhar and designating him as a?global terrorist by doing veto to every move India made.
"The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the heinous and cowardly suicide bombing in Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in over 40 Indian paramilitary forces dead and dozens wounded on February 14, 2019, for which Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility," the UNSC press statement on the 'Suicide Bombing in Jammu and Kashmir' said.

"The members of the Security Council underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organisers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice, and urged all States, in accordance with their obligations under international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, to cooperate actively with the Government of India and all other relevant authorities in this regard," it said.
The UNSC expressed deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs as well as Indian people in general. It also wished for speedy recovery of the injured.?
"The members of the Security Council reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security," the statement said.

The members also reiterated that any "acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed".?
The UNSC statement came a day after Pakistan¡¯s representative at UN Maleeha Lodhi met UN leaders including Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General and? the Security Council President? Anatolio Ndong Mba, explaining the tension between the two countries after the attack.

The condemnation by the UNSC comes just a day after Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Maleeha Lodhi met top UN leaders, including with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Security Council President Anatolio Ndong Mba, briefing them about the escalating tensions in the region in the wake of the Pulwama attack.
?UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet also condemned the suicide attack and called upon the authorities to bring those responsible behind attack to justice. The Geneva office of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) released a statement.

"The High Commissioner strongly condemns the suicide bomb attack against Indian security forces in Pulwama...and calls on authorities to bring those responsible to justice," Rupert Colville, OHCHR spokesperson said.
