Following the April 22 terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir¡¯s Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians and injured many others, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued a public appeal. The agency is asking anyone who was in or around the area during the attack tourists, locals, or visitors to share photos, videos, or any information that could assist the ongoing investigation.
The NIA has opened two channels of communication for those willing to come forward with evidence. The contact numbers are 9654958816 (mobile) and 011-24368800 (landline). Individuals are requested to share their personal details so that a senior NIA official can follow up securely. The agency is particularly interested in any content that might have been captured, even unintentionally, during the time of the attack.
According to the NIA, a large volume of visual content has already been gathered. Several clips believed to be connected to the incident have also emerged on social media. All this material is currently under analysis. However, the agency is keen on collecting more footage that may still be in private hands and could provide leads on the attackers and their methods.
NIA teams have been working in Pahalgam since the day of the incident. They are inspecting the site for forensic evidence and speaking to witnesses. The April 22 incident is among the most serious targeted attacks on civilians in Kashmir in recent years. The agency¡¯s appeal for public help is a step towards strengthening the probe through crowd-sourced evidence and community cooperation.
