Many tourists visit India each year, forming diverse impressions of the country. Some are captivated by its rich culture and history, while others are struck by the visible poverty and chaos. Japanese content creator Tapi recently embarked on her own journey to India and said, "In India, I could find myself."
Japanese content creator Tapi described India as "one of the most chaotic countries," but her journey there shattered her preconceptions.?
While traveling, she found that many stereotypes she held about India simply didn't hold up.?
In a candid clip, she shared, "I stayed with Indians who are rich in emotions. I realised I was expressing my feelings more openly than when I was in Japan. In addition to joy and sorrow, I even expressed the anger I'd been hiding."
Tapi says she discovered a "new me" during her travels.?
She explained that as she got older, she became better at hiding her feelings out of fear of what others might think. She concluded, "Expressing myself is scary but it's important."
India, she said, helped open her heart, leading her to find herself.?
Tapi urges everyone to visit India, adding in the caption of her video, "I think everyone can feel something when they go to India."

In the comments, one person noted the poignancy of Tapi's experience, saying, "How odd this is. Foreigners come here and learn to open up, while we as Indians suffer all our lives trying to open up to our own family who don't even understand us."
Another commenter from Japan shared, "I went in April-May too, and I can totally relate! Rather than changing my outlook on life, I thought that I would encounter feelings I would not feel if I lived in Japan."
Yet another wrote, "Growing up in India, I can say that this country has many challenges, but it is also home to some wonderful people, amazing food (unmatched by any other country), and beautiful places to visit. Some people have done terrible things to tourists, but be safe and healthy."
One comment summed it up perfectly, saying, "From all the travel-to-India videos that I've seen, this is definitely one that I have fallen in love with. It offered a great perspective without glorifying for the sake of it, but speaking from the heart."
