Khalsa Aid India, an NGO for providing aid to needy people, said it is providing ration kits and other items to Afghan students studying in Punjab.
"We have been receiving emergency calls, mails, request calls from students from Afghanistan seeking immediate relief in their food and other needs. Our teams across Punjab respond to these calls immediately and we will continue assisting these students till it is required as they deserve a dignified stay in our country," Japneet Singh, trustee of the Khalsa Aid India, said in a statement.
Around 200 students who are studying in different colleges and universities in Punjab have been assisted so far, it said.
Ravinder Singh, founder of Khalsa Aid, on Monday said on Twitter, "Any registered British charity which is supporting the Afghan refugees and require assistance then please contact Khalsa aid. Let's work together to support those in need," he said.?
? In August, the group provided 1000 sandwiches to the UK Border Control for the refugees arriving from Afghanistan.
In France too, the Khalsa Aid team has been providing essential items to the Afghan refugees arriving in the country.?

From arranging accommodations to making education provisions for the children of those who have come seeking aid, organisations like the Hemkunt Foundation, Khalsa Aid International, and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) have stepped up to lend a helping hand.
Afghanistan has been in a state of panic ever since its former president Ashraf Ghani abdicated his chair earlier this month, leaving large parts of the country to be taken over by the Islamist militant group.
What ensued was chaos across several Afghan cities, with thousands of Afghan citizens flooding the Kabul airport in the hope of leaving their homeland for a safer place.??
