With the widespread adoption of AI across various sectors, one area where its application might not have been anticipated is in matters of love and relationships.?
A 23-year-old Russian man named Alexander Zadan is going viral on social media for having found his love on ChatGPT by well, er, training the chatbot to do so.
In a post on X (formerly recognized on Twitter), Alexander disclosed that he employed artificial intelligence to choose a single female from a pool of thousands.?
He even claimed that "ChatGPT had been communicating for me for a year".?
It began after he broke up with his girlfriend of two years in 2021.He writes, "After a few months, I realized that I wanted a new relationship. But I also realized that I didn¡¯t want to waste my time and feel uncomfortable with a new girl."?
Though he did trying dating women, but it often would not lead to anything concrete.?
Alexander says that he leads a busy life. After his work, hobbies, studies etc, he has little time left on his hands to find love.?
He realises that he could have found love without ChatGPT but it¡¯s "just much longer and more expensive".?
In 2022, he began to use GPT-3 API (ChatGPT didn¡¯t exist yet) to automate conversations with girls on Tinder. They programmed the AI to follow a script and look for profiles with at least two photos.?
Further, besides searching, GPT could also continue conversations after a match on a dating app.?
The prompt they put into the AI bot was: "You're a guy, talking to a girl for the first time. Your task: not immediately, but invite her on a date."?
Although the method was makeshift and not very human-like, but they ended up getting 18 matches out of 50 automatic swipes.?
Yet, he encountered issues with GPT as GPT-3 didn't retain the conversation. However, with the introduction of ChatGPT, the situation improved since memory and custom tools appeared.?
"I started finetuning (retraining) ChatGPT using my cleaned up dialogues so that it would write like me. To avoid sending unnecessary messages, I installed a filter so that it won¡¯t immediately throw in some kind of cringe story," he wrote.?
He also made a filter to select girls using the ChatGPT. He worked on the prompt ¡°find the best one, keep in touch."?
Soon enough, Alexander struck gold. He wrote, "The most charming girl was found - Karina. ChatGPT communicated with her as V1 and V2, communication stopped for a while, then I continued to communicate myself through ChatGPT V2."?
Thus, after spending almost a year looking for the 'right one', it was artificial intelligence in the form of ChatGPT that found Karina Imranovna for him - after more than 5,000 women.??
