In a startling development, a woman was killed by her husband in Chhattisgarhafter she refused to have sex with him.
According to media reports, the woman, identified as Asha Bai, jumped into a well following a fight with her husband, Shankar Ram, over sex. The husband reportedly saved the wife only to kill her later.
This shocking incident from Jashpur district occurred on the night of April 17 after the couple drank alcohol.?
Following the drinking session, Shankar asked her wife to have sex, but Asha turned down his request.?
Upon this, he tried to get intimate with Asha forcibly and in response, she jumped into the well.?To save Asha, her husband also jumped and managed to rescue her.?
But they had another altercation once he took her out of the well.?The report stated that Shankar, in a fit of rage, attacked Asha's private parts and killed her. He then sat close to the body throughout the night.
Upon receiving information about the shocking incident, police reached the spot on April 18 morning?and arrested Shankar.
Station in-charge Garden Jagsay Pankra told?India Today?they are investigating the matter further.
According to media reports, Shankar lived with his wife, Asha Bai and children in Jawakhar township of Rauni.
Earlier this month, Mumbai Police charged a lifeguard, Mithu Singh, for allegedly murdering an MBBS student, Swadichha Sane, at Bandstand in Bandra in 2021.?
The motive for the murder was attributed to Sane's refusal to have sex with Singh. The police stated that a scuffle occurred between the two, leading either Singh to push her or her falling on the rocks and dying.
Sane was a medical student in the third year at JJ College and a resident of Palghar. She was last seen with Singh at Bandstand in Bandra on November 29, 2021.
