Police officers have to deal with a lot of complaints every day regarding several subjects. However, the cops at a police station in Kerala were left stumped when someone filed a petition requesting for Rs 2,000 which the petitioner said she will return once she starts working again.?
It all began when a woman approached the police station in Palode, in the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. In her written request, the woman said that she and her two children have been struggling to live due to the lockdown and she requested the officer if she can borrow Rs 2000 to travel to Kollam where her elder daughter studied and get her transfer certificate.?
Unsurprisingly the cops were taken aback by this unusual petition. The officer, SI Satheesh Kumar, who received the petition was moved by her plight and decided to help her with his own money. On Monday, when the woman went to the police station, she was pleasantly surprised to receive much more than what she had hoped for.?
After other officers got to know about the incident they also pooled in some money and bought groceries for the family for a month.?
According to the woman, her husband had abandoned her and she had been taking care of her two daughters all by herself working as domestic help.?
But due to the lockdown, she was left without a job or money to feed her two children, and it was out of desperation she decided to approach the cops requesting for help.? ? ?
