With a population of over 18 million people, Mumbai is a city that never sleeps - often hailed as the city of dreams and the financial capital of India; it grapples with the challenge of balancing prosperity and livability for its residents.
In line with the vision to transform the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) into a global hub by 2025, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revealed the Mumbai Metropolis Metaverse on February 19.
?This platform showcases a 3D representation of Mumbai's future, offering a sneak peek into upcoming developments and amenities for citizens.
It is worth noting that the transformative project was developed in association with MMRDA, CIDCO, MMRC, MTDC, and BMC. The three core parties signed an MoU in June 2023 to work together towards the project's success.
Deputy CM Fadnavis extended an invitation to Mumbaikars and enthusiasts to explore the metaverse, urging them to witness the city's transformation firsthand. He shared access links for the platform on X.

Fadnavis highlighted 12 ongoing projects in the metaverse that will redefine Mumbai's landscape.?
The following projects have been highlighted: Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor, Mumbai Metro, Coastal Road, Dharavi Project, Mumbai Port Trust Project, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (Atal Setu), Elevated Metro Lines, Airoli-Katai Tunnel Road, Virar-Alibaug Multimodal Corridor, Wastewater Treatment Plants, and Navi Mumbai International Airport.
Fadnavis recently stated that he is confident that Mumbai's transportation system will improve than other major cities such as Bengaluru, Delhi, and Chennai within the next five years. He emphasised that the government is committed to ensuring that Mumbaikars can reach any destination within the city in under 59 minutes.
With ambitious endeavours to improve mobility, Mumbai is on the brink of a profound transformation, solidifying its position as a global metropolis.
