If you are a regular traveller on the Delhi metro, there is a high chance that you have seen someone breaking into a dance just in front of you and another person filming it.
As irritating and inconvenient as it was for others, metro reels are hugely popular among Instagram users.
But this will now be a thing of the past as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has reinforced the ban on filming inside Delhi metro trains.
DMRC has announced that ¡°filming reels, dance videos or any other such activities that may cause inconvenience to the passengers is strictly prohibited inside the Delhi Metro.¡±
Earlier this week, DMRC shared a public service message on Twitter, which read, "Travel, don't cause trouble," accompanied by a graphic that said, "Be a passenger in Delhi Metro, not a nuisance."?
While there was a ban on photography inside Delhi Metro and station premises, due to security reasons, from the early days when the service started, off late, especially after the advent of social media, it was not strictly enforced.
But with TikTok and later Facebook and Instagram making short videos massively popular, the craze for shooting videos inside trains had become a nuisance for other passengers.
