A party is never complete without Punjabi songs loaded with lyrics on liquor and celebration. However, this nightmare for people of Punjab, Haryana and Chnadigarh has now come true.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court have put a ban on loud music and loudspeakers in private and public places including community halls and banquet halls.
The volume is also set to go down in mosques, gurdwaras and temples.
The Court has made a provision to seek a written permission from the authorities and this permission cannot be granted 15 days before or during annual examinations, reported The Indian Express.
The court has also put a ban on celebratory firing and live show songs glorifying liquor, drugs and violence.
The High Court observed, "glorification of violence has given rise to culture of gangsters in the States of Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory Chandigarh,¡± reported the IE.
However there are exceptions as well.
Loudspeakers and public address systems can be used between 10 pm and 12 midnight during a cultural or religious festive occasion that must not exceed 15 days.

The court issued detailed guidelines to Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh administration to curb noise pollution and ban on songs promoting ¡°vulgarity¡± and gun culture.
The order also stated that pressurised horns are also banned throughout the states of Punjab and Haryana and Union Territory Chandigarh. Those found violating the rules can be panalised under Rule 6 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000.
