Akasa Air, India¡¯s youngest airline has announced that it will be launching flight operations to Ayodhya from February 15.
According to Akasa Air, it will operate daily through flights between Pune and Ayodhya via Delhi enhancing connectivity between the City of Lord Ram and two major hubs.
"The city of Ayodhya has immense spiritual, religious, and cultural significance and by connecting it to two major hubs ¨C Delhi and Pune, we will provide ease of access to people travelling while also bolstering economic growth, trade, and regional development," Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said.
Ayodhya will be the 18th destination of Akasa Air which launched in August 2022 and the flights to Ayodhya will be operated for daytime travel during prime hours.
Akasa Air QP 1607 will take off from Pune at 08:50 and reach Delhi at 10:55. From the national capital, the flight will take off at 11:35 and land in Ayodhya at 12:55.
Akasa Air QP 1608 will take off from Ayodhya at 13:35 and reach Delhi by 15:05 and conclude the trip at Pune by 17:50.
Meanwhile, anticipating a rush of pilgrims to the Ram Temple, the Uttar Pradesh government will start helicopter services to Ayodhya from six districts in the state by the end of this month.
The services will be started from Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Mathura and Agra.
The helicopter service from Gorakhpur to Ayodhya would cover 126 km in 40 minutes and the fare has been fixed at Rs 11,327 per person.
From Varanasi and Lucknow, the fare would be Rs 14,159 per person for a 55-minute and 45-minute flight, respectively.
A fare of Rs 14,159 per person would be charged from Prayagraj for a 50-minute flight, from Mathura and Agra, Rs 35,399 per person for a 135-minute flight.
Apart from this, the government is also introducing an aerial darshan of Ayodhya and the Ram temple. For this, helicopter rides will start from a helipad near the tourism guesthouse along the banks of the Saryu River.
People interested in the aerial darshan will have to make advance bookings.
The aerial tour will cover the Ram temple, Hanumangarhi and Saryu ghat among other places and its duration has been fixed for a maximum of 15 minutes, and the fare would be Rs 3,539 per person.
