Himachal Pradesh turns a winter wonderland as higher reaches of the state received fresh snowfall. The hills of Rohtang and Lahaul Spiti got covered in snow on Wednesday.
The higher areas falling under the regions were seen draped in the snow.A video released by ANI showed that the visibility was less, and the hills and roads were covered under a thick blanket of snow.?The video also showcased scenic beauty as the clouds passed by the region's hills.?
People in Rohtang and Lahaul and Spiti were seen clicking pictures and walking down the lanes as snow continued to fall.
Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh received snowfall on November 6.According to IMD, Shimla, the Himachal Pradesh capital, recorded 12 degrees Celsius today morning.
Given the snowfall, the district administration stopped the movement of all vehicles on the Darcha-Shinkula road near Losar and Kunzum Pass and Shinkula Pass. The movement of the vehicles would be allowed only after approval from the Border Roads Organistaion (BRO).
With Himachal Pradesh elections due on November 12, there is a fear that the weather may play a spoilsport during the polling process.
It may be noted that Tashigang in Himachal Pradesh is the highest polling station in the world. The voting for the Himachal election will be held in 20 polling stations - Hansa, Hal, Khurik, Chicham, Kiber, Tshigang, Losar, Keemo, Hikkim, Demul, Lalunga, Gyu, Dhankhar, Khurpani, Gondla, Sissu, Saganam, Karpat, Chaling and Dagger Langcha, Mane Yogma, Teling, Kolang, Gaimur, Jispa, Darcha, Sumdo, Rarik, Dimphuk, Urnath, Gumrang, Yoche, Pukar, Lapchang, Kardang, Chimrat, Deep and Tigrat.
