CS Rangarajan, the head priest of the Sri Chilkur Balaji Temple in Rangareddy District in Telangana has gifted a bull to a Muslim farmer.
The bull was donated from the Chilkur Balaji Temple's gaushala to one Mohammad Ghouse after he lost his farming animal to electrocution.
The temple has a gaushala which houses 56 cows, calves, and bulls.
According to reports, the bull donated to the farmer was born and raised in the temple's gaushala.
The priest said that it is a tradition of the Chilukur Balaji temple to support the farmers in distress.
¡°Humanity does not see religion, caste or creed. It is the belief of Chilkuru Balaji Pujari, his disciples and people associated with him that service to God is to help fellow human beings,¡± he said.
While highlighting the role farm animals play in the life and livelihood of farmers, Rangarajan also appealed to people to participate in ¡®cattle gifting programs¡¯ to help those in distress.
In the past few years, Rangarajan, with the help of devotees and wellwishers has gifted farm animals to farmers from neighbouring villages who lost their cattle to electrocution, lightning, or any other accidents.
The Chilkur Balaji Temple which is located on the banks of Osman Sagar in Rangareddy District is one of the oldest Hindu shrines in Telangana and dates back to the 14th century.
One of the most unique features of the temple is that it has no hundi and neither accepts any money from devotees.
