Every year during the monsoon Mumbaikars, especially those who have to commute to work have a tough time, thanks to the flooded roads and waterlogging.
What makes the situation even worse is how the Mumbai local almost comes to a halt, thanks to the marooned railway tracks.?

But this time, the commuters may not face any such situation, at least that is what the railways are promising.?
Ahead of the monsoons, the railways have improved their infrastructure by raising tracks at vulnerable points, repaired overhead equipment and fixed train coaches to prepare for the rains.?

Additionally, both Central and Western Railways have installed nearly 200 high capacity pump sets at low-lying stations to flush out water during the flooding.??
According to Mumbai Mirror, the Central Railways will deploy 15 workers at every station that sees high footfalls to quickly mop staircases of foot overbridges in order to prevent commuters from slipping and falling during rain and avoid mishaps like what happened in Elphinstone Road in 2017.

According to Skymet Weather, pre-Monsoon showers will begin in Mumbai on June 2 and the monsoon will kick-in by June 13 and 15.
