An Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer who appears to have mastered the art of amassing disproportionate assets has been nabbed by the Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB). The officer, Sahi Ram Meena, an additional commissioner deputed in the Narcotics Control Bureau in Kota was caught on Saturday. According to local media, ACB laid a trap for Meena after receiving inputs that he was taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a person working as a coordinator in the opium licensing process with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
The man, Kamlesh, was working as a coordinator in the opium licensing process, but Meena tried to replace him with another person.?
¡°When Kamlesh protested and said that he wanted to continue as the coordinator, Sahiram Meena demanded bribe,¡± an official told a local news portal.?
Teams were dispatched to Kota to nab him and simultaneously, raids were were conducted in his residence in Shankar Vihar area of Jagatpur in Jaipur.
But what they found has left even the ACB officials shocked.
In the raids, documents of 82 plots, over 25 shops, a bungalow in Jaipur¡¯s posh colony, a flat in Mumbai, a petrol pump, a marriage garden and nearly 2 hectares of agriculture land were recovered from him. The Jaipur bungalow alone is estimated to be worth nearly Rs 20 crore.

That is not all, jewellery and other valuables worth Rs 6.22 lakh and currency of nearly Rs 2.2 crore was also recovered from him.
"Teams have been sent to his other properties. An investigation is underway,"ANI quoted a senior ACB officer as saying. Raids were also conducted at properties belonging to him.??
Local media reports suggests that there have been a number of corruption allegations against Meena.?
